Long hours in a Comms room listening to idiots scream at eachother over the hailing and distress frequency about being waked out or chatting about how each of their boats look spiffy. No Cigs or anything though, cuz it's indoors.

Uniforms are looking a little better... but still wondering how useful camouflage is on a ship.

They are going to decommission the type one uniform. (NWUs) type 1 Navy working uniforms have been classified as unfavorable by too many military personnel. So instead they are going to go ahead and issue all navy personnel two pairs of type 2 and two pairs of type three NWU, which are woodland and desert patterned. I think it is so awesome that millions of dollars was spent on the design and production of this uniform and faster than they were designed, there is talk of decommissioning the uniform already. The reason why it was designed is because every other branch had a digital pattern working uniform where the navy did not. They wanted to design one that made the navy stand out as well as have the digital pattern. Many reasons why blue black and grey were chosen is because the uniform could hide dirt better, it was a navy looking style. It provides zero camouflage and is only a working uniform. The complaints have been that the type one uniform were too hot in the summer time, do not stand up to multiple washes and fade, and they are just overall uncomfortable.

I'll have to find a picture on facebook that shows the real use of this uniform... Keep an eye ouot, I'll try and throw it up. :3

It's either the full beard or nothing for us... On a related note, I did get pulled to one side by shore patrol in the Bahrain NSA for drunkenly calling everyone in the bar with a mustache "Ron Burgundy".
